The von Eiberg family's relationship with the sea predates the company by generations. The founders draw their deepest inspiration from their grandfather, Detlef von Eiberg — a true pioneer of the modern yacht charter industry. In 1963, long before crewed charters were a recognised luxury category, Detlef was already operating yacht charters in the West Indies, navigating the trade-wind passages of the Caribbean at a time when the concept of a privately crewed vessel for hire was known only to a handful of visionaries. It was in those waters, on the island of Antigua, that his son James von Eiberg was born.
